PMCohen Public Affairs
Paul Cohen is the owner of PMCohen Public Affairs, a San Rafael based firm offering government relations, strategic communications and outreach, and political campaign services.
Prior to starting his own business in 2012, Mr. Cohen spent over a decade as the Director of Government and Public Relations for the Northern California Carpenters. In that capacity, he worked on numerous political campaigns from local to statewide. Significant campaigns include working with Governor Schwarzenegger to pass statewide infrastructure bonds in 2006, and working as the labor outreach coordinator for Jerry Brown 2010.
Campaigns in Marin County included working to pass College of Marin Bonds, creation of SMART, and passage of the Transportation Sales Tax.
In addition to running his business, he currently serves on the San Rafael Board of Education. He was first elected to the Board in 2007, after serving for 16 years as a member of the San Rafael City Council. He has extensive knowledge of public policy issues in Marin County, and long term relationships with elected officials and community leaders
He and his wife have lived in San Rafael for nearly thirty years. In addition to serving on the Board of Education, he is Chair of the Marin Democratic Party and Vice-Chair of the Marin Shakespeare Company.
